Mother issues plea to public
Desperate to know why her daughter died, woman asks anyone who can to help.

Jennifer Beebe says the grief just won't go away.

She remembers her daughter Leslie Beebe as a caring nurse, a strong swimmer and a singer so talented that her nursing school class chose her to sing at graduation.

She belted out "The Rose," a Bette Midler hit.

Jennifer Beebe is begging for the public's help to learn why and how her daughter died just days before Christmas last year.

"Not knowing it gets harder and harder every day," Beebe told reporters recently in an interview she arranged to publicize the case.

Leslie Beebe, 26, was last seen leaving the Derby sports bar in Alpharetta about 1 a.m. on Dec. 14.

Her body was found a week later in the driver's seat of her Volkswagen Jetta.

The car was parked off Allen Drive in Sandy Springs, just blocks from I-285 and Roswell Road. According to witnesses, it had been parked there all week, with no outward signs of damage.

Neighbors had noticed the car, but apparently not the body slumped behind the wheel.

The day the body was discovered, police labeled the case a homicide. But after a preliminary autopsy revealed no obvious cause of death, investigators stopped discussing possible causes.

The Fulton County medical examiner's office is still waiting for blood test results, which could take another month.

County police said they have nothing new to report except to repeat their appeals for witnesses to call detectives if they saw the victim alive after Dec. 14 or have any useful information.

Around 11 p.m., Leslie Beebe finished a work shift at Mariner Health of Northeast Atlanta.

She was healthy and alert when her older sister, Crystal Culmone, met with her at a Roswell pizzeria around midnight, Culmone said.

From Roswell, Culmone said, Beebe drove to the Derby roughly a 10-minute drive and stayed there for only a few minutes.

Family members say she didn't know anyone living in the neighborhood where she was found, and they know no reason she would go there.

"The only thing we know is she was deceased within a couple of hours of her disappearance," Beebe said, based on information from the medical examiner's office.

"We just need answers," Jennifer Beebe said. "It's my baby. My little girl."

So much time has passed us by and still no justice for Leslie.
I lay awake at night,
wondering why
Anyone would take away,
such a girl from our lives.
And why justice,
has not prevailed.
Why her family
knows no peace.
Why her killer is not rotting in jail,
like the savage beast they must be.
I think about Leslie every day.
Let us all keep her in memory.
Let us pray,
her killer be brought to justice,
her family given peace,
her friends given solace, and sleep.
May we dream of her in happy memories
of years gone by.
Knowing she is watching over,
she'll never let us be alone,
but still for her I cry..........
