There is a new billboard that is up at I-65 South, right before exit 98 in the area where Jennifer and Adrianna Wix vanished almost a year ago. At this time there are no photos to share with this board, but once they become available, we will post.

Thinking of Jennifer and baby Nina today. Hoping that answers can be found SOON for their whereabouts. I know that they are loved and missed by many. I also hope that today's vigil turns out good and the weather cooperates.

Missing Children’s Day Hits Home For Some Local Families
Posted: 5/25/2005 10:03:00 PM
Updated: 5/25/2005 10:50:22 PM

Kathy Holloway watched Wednesday as the faces of her daughter and granddaughter flashed across her television screen.

Jennifer and Adrianna Wix disappeared 14 months ago, and Holloway said she doubts she’ll ever see them alive again.

“I don't believe that Jennifer and Adrianna are alive. I believe something sinister has happened to Jennifer and Adrianna. I won't stop looking for them, nor will I stop looking for what happened to them,” Holloway said.

But there is hope that national exposure about the case could help solve the mystery of their disappearance.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been trying to help Kathy and other families of missing children search for answers.

Wednesday marked National Missing Children’s Day, and TBI used the occasion to send out fliers to more than 500 law enforcement agencies statewide. Those fliers contain information about Tennessee’s missing kids.

The TBI has also created images of what the missing would look like today, in the hope of reaching someone who may know something about each case.

Bo Tuders said his family welcomes any help they can get. His daughter Tabitha disappeared from east Nashville in April, 2003.

With few leads in his daughter’s disappearance, Bo said he now relies on hope that his little girl is still alive.

“We still think she is out there and we want her to come back home,” he said.

To find out the latest information on missing children in Tennessee and nationwide, you can visit missingkids.com. The website contains pictures of missing children and the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.

xx Family of missing duo keeps search alive
« Reply #24 on: Nov 7th, 2005, 4:26pm »

Middle Tennessee is home to some prominent missing persons cases. Tabitha Tuders, Teresa Peden, and Jennifer Wix are just a few of those who have disappeared. For the families, sadness often turns to anger and frustration when their case grows cold. But one family is determined to keep their investigation fresh in the minds of everyone.

Jennifer Wix and her little girl, Adrianna, haven't been seen in nearly 20 months now. The family is frustrated, and say investigators aren't working hard enough. And they wonder why police have never searched the farm of Jennifer Wix's boyfriend, where Jennifer and her daughter were last seen alive.

"Nobody knows what we're going through, until you walk in our shoes," said Jennifer's grandmother Peggy Calvert.

Calvert has been down a road in Springfield a hundred times; single-handedly going door-to-door, pounding the pavement for leads on her missing loved ones. 21-year-old Jennifer disappeared in March, 2004. Three-year-old Adrianna also vanished without a trace.

"I think that my daughter and granddaughter are in heaven with their Father," said Jennifer's mother Kathy Holloway.

"I truly believe that the girls are dead, and that we haven't had a thorough investigation to find out the real truth," said Calvert.

They can't undo the past. But the family is determined to change the future.

"We do need some new laws," said Holloway.

Holloway said that police should be allowed to execute search warrants more quickly in an investigation. Waiting for a blood trail, she said, is too late.

"I would like to see that the last place a person went missing from is a crime scene and is treated as such," said Holloway, "And that immediately that place is searched and the police have access to it thereafter."

The Wixes' case seems to have turned cold, though police refute that. That's why the family is refreshing their campaign.

"As time goes by, the fliers weather and get taken down for whatever reason," said Calvert. "We want the public to know that they are still missing and we still don't know what happened to them."

There is no shortage of willingness to help, and Jennifer Wix has become a household name. The family plans to keep it that way until something develops.

"We are not going to back up," said Jennifer's aunt Lisa Robertson. "We're not going to back down. And we're not going away until somebody finds out what happened to them and finds them and brings them back to us, dead or alive."

News 2 spoke with Lt. Don Bennett of the Robertson County Sheriff's Department on Sunday afternoon. He insists the Jennifer Wix case is still active, and investigators are following up leads every week. The families of Tabitha Tuders and Teresa Peden - another high profile, Robertson County case - were invited to speak to News 2 on Sunday, but were unavailable.

xx Grandmother of missing Wix girls makes bid for she
« Reply #26 on: Mar 21st, 2006, 6:47pm »

Staff Writer

Peggy Calvert is on a mission for justice in Robertson County.

Calvert, along with six other candidates, is running for sheriff.

So far, the race includes current Sheriff Gene Bollinger, Ronald Burney, Larry Cook, Sherman Glover, Jim Hyde and Thomas Guthrie Jr. in addition to Calvert.

“I never thought of becoming sheriff until I became a victim of crime in this county, and becoming a victim made me realize how desperately Robertson County needs a change in their law enforcement leadership. This change must occur for the future of Robertson County and its citizens,” Calvert said.

“I don’t think (the job) would be that hard to do as long as you have compassion for people and treat people the way you want to be treated.”

Calvert, 63, and her family say they have been seeking justice for nearly two years after the disappearance of granddaughter Jennifer Wix, now 24, and great-granddaughter Adrianna, now 4.

The mother and daughter have been missing since March 24, 2004.

Since the disappearance, Calvert says her life has changed dramatically.

“I retired in January 2004 intending to travel, and then two months later my grandchildren went missing and that’s been my life for two years,” she explained.

“I know that people would say that I am only running for this office to pursue my own case, and if it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t be running, but I see how unfair we’ve been treated and I don’t want it to happen to everybody else.

“I believe the constitution reads ‘justice for all’ and I believe that no matter who you are, how much money you’ve got, how big your farm is or who you know, you still deserve justice and that is the way this county needs to be run instead of the way it is now,” she added.

Although Calvert says she has no experience in law enforcement, she says that her leadership and management experience is enough to ensure the citizens of Robertson County that she will make a good sheriff.

“I have owned beauty salons and floral shops,” she said. “I grew up in Robertson County and graduated from Coopertown High School.”

Coopertown High School has since closed.

If elected, she says some big changes are in store for the county.

“First of all, our county needs a change. Our system here is not working. We have a lot of problems here with drugs, youth, and sex offenders in our schools. Our children here, especially teenagers have nothing to do with idle time. There needs to be more for children to do. There needs to be safer schools, and there needs to be something desperately done about our drugs in Robertson County and Springfield,” Calvert said.

“It’s destroying our county. Therefore, it’s destroying our youth who will be the leaders of this county someday. So, if they are destroyed now, who is going to lead the county later?”

Calvert also says she plans to get to the bottom of the Wix case so that she can bring justice and closure to her family once and for all. She also said that as a result of the Wix case, a new law is desperately needed.

“A law needs to be made that the last place a person was seen if they go missing should become the crime scene. If you disappear from somewhere and you haven’t been seen for two years, that should be the only place they are focusing on to look for you,” she explained.

“That needs to be in the law somehow or another. A sheriff can’t change that, but it does need to be addressed and somebody needs to make those changes. If it is not a law, then the law enforcement of the county should make it their idea anyway.”

“I think Jennifer and Adrianna have met with foul play. Jennifer didn’t work. Jennifer had no money, no car. The only money she had come into her life was the next day after she disappeared, which was $500 for a tax refund. That money is still here.”

Calvert’s daughter, Kathy Holloway, said she last spoke with Jennifer Wix on the day of her disappearance when she called at about 9 p.m. upset over an argument with her boyfriend, William Joseph “Joey” Benton.

Wix had been living with Benton and his family since the previous fall.

At the time of the disappearance, Benton, now 25, told authorities that he last saw Wix when he took her and her daughter to an Exxon Station around 9:30 that last night. He reported seeing Jennifer leave in a four-door white car.

Although sheriff’s officials have said they have had more than 100 sightings of the mother and daughter, Calvert and her family say that Jennifer and Adrianna have not been seen or heard from by anyone.

“The public needs to know the truth in our case, and not just our case but every case in this town. This cover up stuff needs to quit,” she said. “Jennifer has vanished. She is not missing. She has vanished without a trace. There have been tips that have produced no leads in our case. They were mistaken identities. There have been no sightings. For the public to think that there have been sightings leads to the idea that Jennifer is on the run and we are acting like nuts trying to run her down.”

The Wix case is still open and under investigation. If you have any information about the case, contact the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office at 384-7971.

The county general election, which includes the race for sheriff, takes place Aug. 3.

In order to qualify for the office, candidates seeking the sheriff position must complete a checklist of materials to be turned in to the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission by the March 23 deadline.

Bollinger, according to Administrator of Elections Cathy Hamsley, is the only candidate so far who has completed the list of requirements for the office.

xx Mother Still Waiting for News of Missing Daughter,
« Reply #27 on: Mar 28th, 2006, 08:11am »

Saturday marks the two-year anniversary of the disappearance of a young mother and her daughter.

Jennifer and Adrianna Wix's family continues to keep their memory alive.

The family will hold a vigil here Saturday, praying not only for their return but also for answers as to what happened.

Two years ago on this day, Kathy Holloway -- Jennifer’s mother -- spent the day searching.

“I'll search for them till I draw my dying breath,” she said.

March 25, 2003, 21-year-old Jennifer and her 2-year-old daughter Adrianna went missing.

At the time, she lived with her boyfriend, Joey Benton. This week, authorities searched his property.

“It's two years too long,” Holloway said.

Investigators have never called him a suspect and, in fact, have said all along, there are no signs of foul play.

Holloway can't help but think the worst.

“That's hard to admit, because the only thing that keeps you going is the hope that you'll see them,” Holloway said.

After two years, there have been few leads, no confirmed sightings and no contact with Jennifer Wix.

“I just never thought we'd be here,” Holloway said.

All she want is news -- be it good or bad -- just something.

“The best closure I could have is to have my girls here with me, but closure, period, would be good,” Holloway said.

Family and friends will gather 4 p.m. and walk to the spot Jennifer was last seen.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Jennifer or Adrianna Wix, please call the Robertson County sheriff's department.

They've been missing for more than two years, and their family is hoping a new picture will help bring them home.

Jennifer Wix and her daughter Adrianna disappeared on March 25, 2004.

The two were last seen at their home in Robertson County where they lived with Jennifer's boyfriend.

Jennifer's family has never stopped searching for them and hopes an age progression photo of Adrianna will help them find the mother and daughter.

A reward is being offered for their safe return.
