MORE UPDATES FROM DENNIS !!

FEBRUARY 19th SATURDAY

Today I was fortunate enough to meet one of Paul Flores' high school classmates. Her name is Eva Alves and we met while I was standing at the intersection of Betteravia and Hwy 101 - right next to the Crossroads shopping center in Santa Maria.

Eva makes no bones about it - she's a tough woman and the last thing on her mind is is to be afraid of the Flores family. Her 'run-in's' with Paul began long before Kristin vanished. Paul used to very aggressively sexually hit on her cousin - being very 'graphic, dark and gothic' in the process. "He was always into weird and dark shit', Eva was saying.

"Just because I am a woman, that don't mean nothing", Eva said. "Everyday in school I'd beat him up - slam him into the lockers - whatever." When he would walk by me he would always flinch because he knew what was coming."
Eva said about three months ago she walked into McClintocks and saw Paul, his father Ruben and another older man sitting at a table having dinner. "I walked right up to them and as I passed the table I shoved Paul and said out loud "Kill anyone lately, you fuckers?" When I asked Eva what their response was she said, "They didn't say a word, that just looked down at their plates."

Eva is convinced that Ruben helped hide Kristin's body. She says that that is what the talk around town is. "You see, Dennis", she said, "Ruben worked for the phone company and he had the keys to all the properties in the area where the phone company owned land. He knew where the perfect places to be were and he had the keys."

That may or may not be true - that is just Eva's opinion. I have heard that 100% of law enforcement is convinced that Ruben helped Paul hide Kristin. The source, I will admit, is 'heresay' - but it came to me from the wife of a SLO Sheriff's officer. That still doesn't mean it is true - but it certainly is the mindset of law enforcement here on the central coast.

Kristin's B'day Feb 20th

Today is Kristin's 28th birthday. We are all disgusted that we are forced to read a website about a missing woman rather than celebrating the birthday of a beautiful young woman who by now is probably married with a family of her own. The more I think about it - the more I am glad I am here doing what I am doing. This is 100% BS and Kristin, Kristen Modafferi, Kent Jacobs and all missing people deserve to be found. The best thing we can do for Kristin is to get her story back in the news again and hopefully have Susan Flores' backyard dug up. To that end - if you are local to the area - please be sure to register for the rally.

Here I am outside the Edwards cinema in Santa Maria. The patrons were all supportive but the Theatre manager - Chuck Lilley - came out and read me the "Corporate Policy' line about no solicited or no banners. I have done this long enough to know that I have the legal right to be there - but in long marathons such as this - you need to pick your fights and this wasn't one of them. So I left and made my way up to Crossraods shopping center where I met the amazing Eva Alves - who you are about to learn about. This was one instance where being kicked off a property actually worked out well.

**FEBRUARY 21st.**

Yesterday was Kristin's birthday and the weather here in Santa Maria was such that it really wasn't going to be too productive walking around. It isn't the rain that is the big hassle. I say that because the sign is so big and readable - that the rain really doesn't deter me. The problem is the wind. The banner in windy conditions acts like a sail and a few times already I have nearly gone airborne.

Today the weather is much better so I should have a good day getting Kristin's name out there. It is starting to work because already people who see me around town (when I don't have the sign - come up to me and acknowledge our efforts.)

It is about 10:30 am and today I will be walking from about Noon til 5pm and then on to work.

The other thing I wish to focus on more here is Kristen Modafferi's case. Thanks to Google - any man on this planet who crosses a woman is guaranteed that it is just a matter of time before she gets to a keyboard and 'Googles' his name. When woman who have been raped, threatened, robbed, burned, beatened, lied to and berated by this human stain eventually they Google "Jon T Onuma" or one of his aliases, 'Jade Yoshino' - the first thing that comes up is my website www.findkristen.com.

**FEBRUARY 22nd**

No walking today. The rains are here again and supposedly this torrential rain front will be gone by tomorrow. it needs to be. Days and days of rain can play with you head somewhat. I suppose the Flores like it, however.

Anyway - I spoke with a member of www.setfree.org today. He is a Christian motorcyclist and he can tap into his 2,000 members to invite them to the May 14th rally.

Things are tentative right now, but this Friday night will be our first meeting. This will give me a chance to sit down and explain Kristin's entire case and from there we can let Al do what he does best.

This could be potentially huge because it will go a long way to assure we have a strong showing for Kristin.

Yesterday (Feb 21st) was another rainy day. It started out nice and then took a turn for the worse and began pouring. I ducked inside a McDonald's, got some coffee and read a book for about an hour and a half before the skies cleared and a Kristin rainbow arced the sky. As I type these words it is pouring again.

Can't help but seeing this as a sign for Kristin Smart, Kristen Modafferi and Kent Jacobs.

Yesterday I met a man named Chris that I knew from a few years ago while I was in San Luis Obispo. He told me he was recently at Two Dogs Cafe, an internet cafe on Monterey Street, and he saw a poster of me on hanging on their door saying there was a warrant for my arrest and that if anyone sees me they should contact police immediately. While I lived in San Luis, I have gone to Two Dogs cafe dozens of times and I know Billy, the owner. I would occasionally mention it on the site so the Flores know that Two Dogs was a place where I hung out.

This is the Flores again.

All the info regarding the arrest warrant can be found here. The point is - today will mark the 6nth time in the past month that my lawyer and I have contacted the San Luis courts attempting to have my case vs. the Flores put on the court calendar. The previous 5 times we were told by the court that the Flores attorney is claiming that he does not have time.

The thing is, while I don't know for sure, it is a pretty safe bet the the Flores would prefer if I just shut the site down and go home. They are expending energy by placing 'arrest warrant' flyers in shops, sliding anonymous envelopes beneath news media doors, threatening elbows companies to shut this site down, hiring lawyers to hamper my efforts to find Kristin.

Ok, it is clear that they probably do not admire me. What Susan, Ruben, Mike Jacksonville, Paul, Ermelinda and Brett need to understand is that if they will just simply cooperate with Lt. Bolts over at the Sheriff's office - then everything I do or say immediately evaporates.

They know my offer - it has been there for years - but for some reason they just can't get themselves to simply answer LE's questions.

Flashback, everyone, to about 2:30am on Saturday, May 25th, 1996. Supposedly, Cheryl Anderson asks Paul Flores numerous times if he promises to make sure Kristin makes it safely to her dorm which is less than 50 yards away from the Grand/Perimeter intersection where they were standing. (We really don't even know if this is true because fellow student , Brandon Allison, who was at the party, shares a completely different version. You can read that here http://www.sonofsusan.com/id97.htm

Paul repeatedly promises that Kristin is in good hands. The next day - the sun comes up, Kristin is missing, Paul is lying about his black eye and now all of a sudden Paul takes the 5th and refuses to cooperate with law enforcement.

This is such BS. Susan - you need to be ashamed of the person you have become.

The storm clouds finally blew over and the sun shone across Santa Maria. I made my way to the courthouse around 1:00pm knowing that Michael Jackson is due out each day at 2:30pm. That is where all the media is and so that is where I need to be to get Kristin's name back in the news.

Again, the crowds were very small and the police contingent is just ridiculously overblown. Even the cops would admit that resources could be better spent elsewhere - like looking for Kristin, just for an example. (See photo above.) These officers should be assigned to Kristin's case instead of standing around. I don't fault the officers - they are doing what they are told to do by their superiors. Someone at the top of the foodchain is misallocating his/her resources. After Jackson walks into the courthouse - there is nothing for anyone to do except stand around and wait til 2:30pm.

Today I got to meet Sabrina(l) and Maria(c), seen here in the photo. The neat thing about these two gals is that they flew in from France to support Michael.

Maria has met Michael numerous times and she had photos of the two of them in her wallet.

When court let out, I removed myself from the crowd and crossed the street and went down the block to the corner. Moments later Jackson's SUV drove slowly past me and Jackson waved at me as he went by. I am hopeful that he was able to read the banner. Ya never know what help that possibly could be for Kristin.

My Michael Jackson take is that he will be found innocent. This is 99% based on how Geraldo Rivera calls out. Like him or not, Rivera has very close access to both camps and he himself is trained lawyer. He has seen a whole lot that the public has not and he has come out and said this case is a joke and that Jackson will be found innocent.

For the 6th time since I arrived in California, my attorney, Okorie Okorocha contacted the SLO courts to request my case vs. the Flores be placed on the calender. Once again, he was told that the Flores attorney had no time.

The rest of the afternoon was spent walking up and down S. Broadway again. I am getting to know this main road very well. I should be in Santa Maria for another week or so and then I want to concentrate on walking up in Arroyo Grande - the Flores hometown and mich more importantly - where we belive Kristin may be buried.

Feb 24th

I spoke today with a reporter from the Santa Maria Times and explained to him what we are doing for Kristin. He said that Kristin wasn't a local story so his paper wouldn't be covering it. Naturally - that was not what we were hoping to hear but it was at least somewhat refreshing to hear someone be blunt and honest about something upfront.

Here's an open invitation for the Santa Maria Times to send a reporter out to join me any afternoon as I walk up and down South Broadway. The reporter will then see firsthand how many people honk their horns and give me the 'thumbs up' sign as they drive on by.

It is not only the fact they they honk and give my the 'thumbs up', what really affects me is the uniform look on everyone's face. They all nod their head up and down and their body language says, 'It's about time', Dennis, "somebody needs to do something".

Beyond that, in my entire time here, I have only spoken with one person who didn't know about Kristin and the Flores. People begin offering me their own theories, everyone wishes me luck and they always leave by saying something similar to, "I hope you find her".

I know for a fact that whichever reporter from the Santa Maria Times eventually joins me one day, he/she is not going to tell the editor that people in Santa Maria are not interested in the Kristin Smart case.

Please consider emailing a letter to the editor of the Santa Maria times. Always be polite and just let them know you think Kristin is a story that Santa Maria residents would want to be informed about.

More broadly, the weather has been much nicer and I just feel alot more is being accomplished. Later on today, I am scheduled to meet with the leaders of the local chapter of a Christian Motorcycle club who wish to support Kristin.

I am also meeting with Pat Gillis, the mother of Brian Gillis, another Cal Poly student who died after a party near the campus. The theme is the same: Parents send their children to Cal Poly, their child dies and then Cal Poly acts at every turn in such a fashion as they make it clear that they want nothing to do with the families.

This is yet another completely different story.

Regarding the Michael Jackson case, it seemed today that there were not as many officers. The small crowd again was very orderly. Jackson's attorney, Tom Messerau came by in a Lexus and could easily read the banner. I know this is a case of a lifetime for him - but just a word or two about justice for Kristin could really help our efforts. This is a matter of being out there day after day and hopefully Kristin's tragedy will become better known.

**February 26TH**

Yesterday I sent an email to the Santa Maria times and within about 4 minutes, I received a call from one of their editor's assistants whose name is Linda.

She was very gracious and even mentioned to me that last week she received a 'letter to the editor' and that she passed it on to the proper channels.

She began to ask me more questions about Kristin's case and what were any new developments. The bottom line is that I believe the Santa Maria Times will now be covering the story.

We had tentative plans to meet yesterday along my route down S. Broadway to to the courthouse. However, as I was making my way - I got word that the court let out very early and that Michael Jackson was already gone.

I called the Times and left a message so that is where that stands.

Yesterday I spent a great deal of time at the intersection of Betteravia and Hwy 101. The response was the strongest yet as literally 6-7 thousand cars went by and so many people honked that I lost count - but- it was in the hundreds -for sure.

About 5pm I made my way over to Wal Mart but didn't hang around too long because just after dark - there was a power failure and the lights went out and the whole store was evacuated!

User Image
On another note that is much more important to Kristin, I received an email today from Denise, Kristin's mom, and she shared with me a very significant email she received from people investigating this case.

I got the sense from the email - that although nine years has gone by - I do sense optimism for the investigation and I can only read between the lines - but clearly - something is going on. I have no idea what that is - but as excited as I am about this - I know it must make the Flores equally nervous, and I suppose that is a very good thing.

The Christian Motorcycle club will be there for Kristin on May 14th in Arroyo Grande. The local chapter has about 100 members and that will be our base. I am sure other riders from surrounding communities will also attend however I still need time to develop those contacts.

I met with Al last night at the Denny's restaurant in Pismo Beach and will be meeting with him many more times before the 14th of May.

Finally - the first newspaper article appeared in the Coast News regarding our renewed efforts to find Kristin. I will try and post that online tomorrow. Right now I need to get out and start walking again as I am meeting Beverly Chase - an Arroyo Grande resident that is just on fire to help the Smarts.

**FEBRUARY 27th**

Yesterday was another quiet day - there will be some of those during this journey. I met early on with Beverly Chase and we spoke about the the best ways to promote Kristin's case up in Arroyo Grande. Then I made my usual trek up and down S. Broadway and headed off to work.

I told a friend of mine that I had no idea if this effort would eventually lead to Kristin because I am pretty certain the Flores are not going to cooperate. What I am very hopeful of, however, is that people in the community will begin to come forward as this case gets put back in the public's eye.

I was pretty confident that that would be true and just this morning I received an email from someone who has been close to the Flores and has more than a passing interest in this case.

I have not yet spoken with this person and beyond that - this person insists on staying in the background.

So - I was happy to see that because it sort of validated what I thought would happen.

Also - Jill Bennett, a gal from Georgia who is just very passionate about missing people and has helped out greatly with the Smarts, Modaffereri's and Jacob's families, was just recently the subject of a lengthy newspaper article. I have included it here for you to read::: http://www.gainesvilletimes.com/news/stories/20050227/localnews/80338.shtml smileysmileysmiley

xx The Flores Try to Halt Smart March

In an attempt to halt Dennis' efforts, Susan Flores has Dennis temporarily jailed. He was released early this morning and tomorrow it's back to business as usual. Reports are coming into us that Susan reportly has some connections at the SLO Police Dept.
The website and all efforts will be updated and back to it's normal running procedure tomorrow.

We will not sit down and be quiet if that is what you are wondering.

God bless those who continue to fight for what is right in this life. There will be obstacles to overcome but they will pass eventually and the truth will surface.
