A 12-year-old private school student who stayed inside her mother's car to retrieve a package after a night of shopping with her family seemingly disappeared Monday, prompting a frantic search by Fulton County police and a tearful plea from her mother.

Rose Phillips said she left her daughter, Roscille Angela Phillips, inside her car as she headed into the family’s home on Celtic Drive in South Fulton County. When she looked outside for her daughter moments later, she could not find her.

“A few seconds later, I come back to look and the [car] door was closed. I mean, I still had my purse and my keys in my hand because I know she’s not in [the house],” said Rose Phillips. “I went outside to look in the car, maybe she’s clowning. No sight of her and I called for her. Nothing. I raced inside to my husband, ‘Did she go upstairs?’ I mean, she must be here but deep inside I knew she wasn’t here.”

Fulton County police alerted the media about the case Tuesday morning after interviewing family members and friends about the disappearance of Roscille, a student at Berean Christian Junior Academy. They also used police helicopters and search dogs in their attempt to find any sign of Roscille, who was last seen at 10 p.m. Monday.

Roscille is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a light blue T-shirt, light blue Capri pants, and white tennis shoes. Her hair is long and in a pony tail. Roscille also has braces.

Anyone with information should immediately contact Detective Guy Brown at 404-699-4210.

xx Missing Girl Comes Home

The 12-year-old girl missing from south Fulton County since Monday night came home Tuesday evening, after going out with some friends.

Roscille Phillips was reported missing after she had come home with her mother at about 10:00 Monday evening.

Police dogs had tracked her scent to the entrance to the south Fulton County subdivision that they lived in, then lost the trail.

Fliers had been circulated in the neighborhood where the family lived, and reports aired in local media.
