xx Levi Frady - (Levi's Call) GA's Amber Alert
« Thread started on: Oct 22nd, 2004, 4:55pm »

On October 22, 1997, after a day of playing with his friends, 11-year old Levi Frady headed toward his rural Forsyth County home. It was getting dark but his house was less than a mile away, and he and his trusty bike had made the trip dozens of times. Tragically, on this evening, Levi would not make it home. He was abducted, driven to a neighboring county, and brutally murdered. The next day, his body was found in a wooded area. Law enforcement are still searching for his killer(s).

It is in Levi's memory that the law enforcement community, emergency management, and Georgia's broadcasters have partnered with Levi's family to create Levi's Call: Georgia's Amber Alert. The program is designed to get the word out to the public via radio and television within minutes of a confirmed abduction. Its goal is simple: Locate a child and an abductor expeditiously before any harm comes to the child.

xx New information released in Frady murder of 1997
« Reply #1 on: Oct 22nd, 2004, 4:58pm »

DECATUR Ė For the first time since the investigation began, law enforcement agencies investigating the death of Levi Frady are releasing a timeline detailing the 11-year-oldís activities the day of his abduction and murder.

It was seven years ago Friday that Levi disappeared from Forsyth County. His body was found in neighboring Dawson County the next day. He had been shot multiple times and left in a wildlife management area.

The timeline, developed by investigators through interviews with neighbors, family, and passing motorists, traces Leviís whereabouts from last time he was seen alive till his body was found.

By releasing the chronology in detail investigators hope new eyewitnesses may come forward, resulting in new leads in the unsolved case.

Also included with the timeline are two previously released composite sketches of potential witnesses. The first man (Sketch A) was seen walking along Little Mill Road at approximately 6:30 p.m. on the day of Leviís disappearance. The second man (Sketch B) was seen at the Dawson County Wildlife Management Area the day Leviís body was found.

Anyone with information on the murder of Levi Frady or the identities of the men in the sketches is asked to please contact investigators at 1-888-233-5680 (toll free).

The timeline is as follows.

October 22, 1997

3:30 p.m.-4:12 p.m. Levi Frady departs from school and arrives home after getting off the school bus. Note: Leviís sister remains at school awaiting her mother to pick her up at approximately 5:30 p.m.

4:12 p.m. Levi calls his mother at her work place in Alpharetta, and tells her that he is going over to visit a friend and is also going by another friendís residence. His mother tells Levi to be home by 6:30 p.m.

5:12 p.m.-5:00 p.m. A couple walking on Little Mill Road sees Levi riding his bicycle passed their driveway heading in the direction of another coupleís residence (on Little Mill Road). They observe that Levi has his book bag strapped on his back.

4:15 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Another neighborhood resident sees Levi riding his bicycle traveling down Picklesimer Road.

4:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Another neighborhood resident sees Levi riding his bike in the direction of Leviís friendís house.

4:40 p.m.-5:45 p.m. Levi and his friend (Friend #1) ride their bicycles over to another friendís (Friend #2) residence and play on the trampoline.

xx For Levi Frady on Oct. 22, 2004

I almost let this slip by today. I had apparently accidentally deleted Levi's information. I wanted to acknowledge little Levi Frady who was found murdered in Forsyth County seven years ago today. Levi's death prompted Georgia's Amber Alert (Levi's Call) to come into action. To date, Levi's murder is still unsolved.

I'm thinking of little Levi today and his family. I am hoping that answers can be found for his disappearance & murder. I remember you little Levi.

xx Lottery, GBI to Widen Amber Alert

Americas Amber Alert News Center(Atlanta GA USA) AP--Georgia Lottery officials and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are teaming up to use lottery terminals across the state to get out Amber Alerts about missing children.

The alerts are known as Levi's call in Georgia. Since March, lottery terminals have flashed red whenever an alert is issued. The so-called "tote board" inside retail outlets scroll the information about the missing child.

A spokesman for the Georgia Lottery Corporation J.B. Landrosh says the lottery has more than 7,500 retail outlets across the state where lottery tickets are sold. The alerts are sent to all the retail partners.

Whenever an alert is issued, the call goes out to local radio and television stations, and the message is posted on tote boards over interstates. The lottery connection is intended to reach areas that are not along major roadways, and deputize lottery players at gas stations where a suspect may stop to get gas.

Clerks at stores also have the option of printing out the alert on slips used for lottery tickets.

For Levi Frady on the date of his disappearance/death. Hoping that those responsible for his death can be found and sent to jail soon. He's always on my mind every time I go through Forsyth County.

xx Unsolved Murders Similar to Emerson?

Is Gary Michael Hilton a serial killer?

Thatís the question authorities are now looking into, as they search for possible links between the 61-year-old drifter/handyman in four deaths spanning Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida.

Perhaps as soon as Wednesday, detectives from Leon County, Fla. will be arriving in Georgia to meet with GBI agents to go over notes in a similar murder there. Agents from North Carolina have already visited with the GBI.

Cheryl Dunlap, 46, disappeared last month in the woods of the Apalachicola National Forest. Her body was found two weeks later by hunters.

The murder is remarkably similar to Meredith Emersonís. The suspect robbed Dunlap of her bank card and tried to use it at an ATM to get cash, just like Emersonís alleged killer, Gary Hilton. Authorities in Florida will neither confirm nor deny that Dunlap was decapitated like Emerson in an attempt to conceal her identity.

ďWe will be talking to authorities in Florida who are working a homicide case there in the near future,Ē said GBI Director Vernon Keenan. ďWe will be meeting with them and providing them with what we know occurred in the Meredith Emerson case."

Similarities in the long trail of tragedies cannot be ignored, authorities said.

In North Carolina, hikers John and Irene Bryant were killed in the woods; their ATM card was stolen and used by a suspect in Tennessee; he was wearing a yellow jacket similar to the one worn by Hilton.

And the case of Levi Frady has yet to be discounted.

A decade ago, the 11-year-old boy was killed in the same woods as Emerson. Of the two suspects seen in the area shares several of the same physical traits as Gary Hilton.

There is also the Patrice Endres case out of Forsyth County, in which a white van was seen as a suspect vehicle.

Hilton owns two white vans and is no stranger to Forsyth County. Several of Emersonís blood-stained belongings were dumped in a convenience store dumpster in the county. Her dog was also released there.

However, officials say neither case has been linked to Hilton.
