Jaclyn Dowaliby - (Gone in The Night) IL

On Sept. 14, 1988 Jaclyn Dowaliby vanished in the night from her bedroom. Suspicion would fall on her mother Cynthia and David Dowaliby. Jaclyn's body was found five days later in a wooded area near an apartment complex. Her father was convicted of her murder but the sentence was later overturned and he was released. Later an uncle would come forward to say that he knew the full lay out of the house and described it as it would have looked the night Jaclyn vanished. The uncle was mentally ill and he had never been in the house before. He was never charged. To date, Jaclyn's murder remains unsolved.

David Dowaliby was convicted in 1990 of the murder of his adopted daughter, 7-year-old Jaclyn Dowaliby, solely on the basis of testimony by a man with a history of mental illness who claimed to have seen someone with a nose structure resembling Dowaliby’s on the night the victim disappeared near where her body was found five days later.

Jaclyn's movie to air today 12-4-04

Today @ 1 p.m. EST Lifetime Television will be airing the movie about the disappearance and murder of Jaclyn Dowaliby. This is not a documentary, it's a movie from the book "Gone in the Night".

Thinking of Jaclyn today on her birthday. Hoping that someday soon justice can be found for whoever took this childs life.

On Monday, January 23, 2006 AETV will reair the segment regarding the disappearance and death of Jaclyn Dowaliby. The show is titled "A Parent's Nightmare". It will begin @ 12 PM EST and again @ 6 PM EST.
