I know that each of us have something that we loved as a child. I want to hear from each of you. This is for fun. I'm gonna post a picture of one of my most favorite things from childhood. Let's hear about yours too.

Some of my favorite things were my Fisher Price Little People with their little house (blue house with a yellow roof), their little cars & furniture. I had a bunch of that stuff (school bus, minivans, camper, you name it!).

I also had a game called Lucy's Tea Party (Peanuts gang) where you had to put plastic sugar cubes into water filled cups. I have always loved board games. We had lots of games growing up & I still enjoy playing most of them. I think I have more fun than my children sometimes! grin

I had two favorite things back when I was a child. The first, was my kitty named midnight., my dad brought him as a surprise. The second thing was a bride doll that I named Kathy.

Jill,

I loved Van Halen! I used to drive my poor mom crazy playing that tape over & over & over (and also Deep Purple- Perfect Strangers). I also liked the movie "Splash". Some of my favorites were Valley Girl, with Nicolas Cage (he went by Nicolas Copolla at that time), Fast Times at Ridgemont High (total classic!) and Love Letter with C. Thomas Howell and Lori somebody (from Full House). Oh, and of course anything with Molly Ringwald... "What's happenin' hot stuff?" grin

I still enjoy those 80's movies when I catch them on TV!

Fast Times @ Ridgemont High is on my top ten favorite movies of all time. All of the John Hughes films were good too (Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Some Kind of Wonderful & Pretty in Pink).

When I was 8 I rebelled against my parents for not taking me to Van Halen 1984. LOL
Me and a friend went out in the back yard with my large boom box and proceeded to jump off the bank like David Lee Roth was doing on MTV (back when MTV was cool). My friend did it perfect, but when I came my turn, I managed to jump right into a hornet's nest. Dad come running outside - WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!!!huh!!!!!
He said, IT'S THAT MTV!!!! IT'S KILLING OUR YOUTH. LOL

We still laugh about that now that I'm 30 embarassed

I finally got to see Van Halen in 1995. It was one of the most memorable times of my life. Dad handed me 200 bucks before she show and said "have a good time", but dont jump into any hornet's nests.

Just thought I'd share that with you all. Van Halen was always my favorite and my jelly shoes.

Jelly shoes was one of the coolest. Don't forget about atari. Or how about He Man, She Ra, The smurfs. My little ponies, strawberry shortcake. I loved Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, boygeorge. Gosh how about the hair do's. Big and poffy on top and sides and straight hair in the back. Aqua Net Super hold Baby.

Then when I got a little oler (12-13) it was all about the NKOTB----you got it New Kids on The Block. LOL!!! Now that's sad cause that was my first concert I went to.

Okay I can stop now or else I could go on and on!

Oh yeah one more Milli Vanilli baby! LOL!

Some of the coolest things happened in the 80s and early 90s. New Kids was a favorite of mine too. Strawberry Shortcake is making a come back, so it the jelly bracelets and maybe shoes.
I still have Milli Vanilli somewhere, even after they retracted their grammy for not really singing that song. undecided

I was a huge fan of jelly shoes and they actually are making a comeback. grin grin
I loved my little pony, strawberry shortcake, smurfs, and my cabbage patch kids.
I was born in '85, so I didn't get the full experience of the '80s. I still to this day love and have all of the Molly Ringwald movies. They are awesome. wink

Check this out. I'd put on my plastic shoes, get my bracelets on and mom would take me and my best friend Angie to the movies in their big long car and give us permission to see the 400 installment of Nightmare on Elm Street. Back in those days adults could say it was alright for you to get in to see an R rated movie embarassed
