xx Video may help search for missing Woodstock woman
« Reply #2 on: Aug 31st, 2005, 05:13am »

By CLINT WILLIAMS
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 08/31/05

Police detectives are hoping 96 hours of security camera video recordings will help them find a missing Woodstock woman.

Sue Ann Ray, 26, was last seen about 7 p.m. Friday, said Woodstock Police Sgt. Dan King.

The Ford minivan she was driving was found about 11 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart on Riverstone Parkway in Canton.

King said the store's security staff was reviewing the videotapes to see if Ray could be seen parking the van.

"The key to it all could be in that video," King said Tuesday.

The last person to see Sue Ann Ray, King said, was her husband, Quinton Ray. Sue Ann Ray stopped at her husband's garage in Jasper to get the minivan serviced.

The Rays are separated and in the process of getting a divorce, King said. They have a 5-year-old daughter.

Quinton Ray was arrested by Woodstock police on Monday on charges unrelated to the disappearance of his wife, King said.

He declined to reveal the nature of the charges.

Sue Ann Ray is 5 feet tall and weighs 110 pounds. She has blond hair and green eyes.

The family has established a Web site: www.geocities.com/FindSueAnn.

xx Police are searching for missing woman
« Reply #3 on: Sep 1st, 2005, 05:28am »

Authorities are looking for an Atlanta-area woman who has been missing since Monday.

The woman's father said he believes Sue Ann Ray, 26, of Woodstock, was en route to the Augusta area before she went missing.

Danny Jenkins, 50, of Lincolnton, Ga., said he told police he believes his daughter was coming to visit him after she left her job in Cherokee County.

Mr. Jenkins said police found his daughter's 1998 red Ford Windstar on Monday at a Wal-Mart parking lot in Canton, north of Atlanta.

Mr. Jenkins said the woman's daughter, Charity Ray, 6, is with her mother.

Police said Mrs. Ray's estranged husband, Quinton Ray, 27, was the last person who saw her. Although Mr. Ray was arrested Monday, police said his arrest had no connection with Mrs. Ray's disappearance.

Anyone with information should contact the Woodstock Police Department at (770) 294-7231 or (770) 592-6010.

The family of a missing Woodstock woman will hold a candlelight vigil tonight.

The vigil for 26-year-old Sue Ann Ray will be at 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Canton Wal-Mart Supercenter, where her abandoned car was found Monday.

Her father, Danny Jenkins of Augusta, and other family are organizing the vigil in hopes of increasing attention on the case.

Ms. Ray left work Friday afternoon and went to Jasper to see her estranged husband, Quinton Ray. She left Jasper between 6:30 and 7 p.m., according to the Woodstock Police Department, but never showed for a 7 p.m. appointment.

Ray, 27, who has been arrested on what the Woodstock Police Department said are "unrelated" terroristic threat charges, has not been named as a suspect in the case.

Foul play has not been ruled out and police are reviewing security tapes from the Wal-Mart, where Ms. Ray's 1998 red Ford Windstar was found Monday after her family reported her missing.

The family plans to offer a reward for information.

Ms. Ray, a Cherokee High School graduate, is 5 feet tall, 110 pounds with blond hair and green eyes. She has two tattoos: a red and black tribal tattoo on her lower back and a flower on her left ankle. For more information, visit the Web site www.Geocities.com/FindSueAnn.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Sgt. Dan King at (770) 294-7231. Callers can remain anonymous.

xx Vigil For Sue Ann Ray Photos

Attached are some photos from the vigil for Sue Ann Ray that was held tonight @ the Canton Wal-mart Supercenter where her van was found. Heather Teague, relative of Sue Ann Ray who vanished on the same date, 10 years prior to Sue Ann was remembered tonight as well. You can see the split frame flier that was created to share with those who attended the vigil. There is a need to find both girls.
At this time Sue Ann remains missing, so please continue to keep her in your prayers. I am going to try to update the website tonight as well. It's pretty late here but I wanted to share this with you all because I know many of you have been following this with us since it happened.

xx Update on Sue Ann

Posting this for the family at their request for everyone

The police dept told the family that camera's inside the Wal-mart Supercenter revealed that Sue Ann was inside the store @ approximately 5 pm on Friday, August 26, 2005. The camera's outside the store have not shown anything and it's believed that the poor weather conditions coming off of hurricane Katrina caused this. It is a possibility that that footage may go to NASA's photo enhancement center to determine what happened out there.
This is all I can post right now but we are all contining to search for Sue Ann. Her website will have more content added to it this weekend. Please continue to keep Sue Ann and her family close in your thoughts and prayers. She is still missing at this time.

xx Update on Sue Ann Ray Case

As of Friday, Sept. 9th, the Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation awarded the family of Sue Ann Ray a $5,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Sue Ann. In the next few days, we expect the amount to increase from other people who are going to contribute to increase the amount.
Information about the vehicle Sue Ann was last seen in is now posted on her website and her family has been passing out fliers with this information.
Last but not least, The Cue Center for Missing People are now in Georgia searching for Sue Ann. Their location has not been made known because interactions at the point from the community might hamper the search efforts. Please keep Sue Ann close in your thoughts as this search continues.

Reward offered for leads on missing woman

Saturday, September 10, 2005 4:01 AM EDT

By Ashley Fuller

Cherokee Tribune Staff Writer

The family of a Woodstock woman reported missing two weeks ago is offering a reward for information that leads to her safe return.

Sue Ann Ray, 26, was reported missing Aug. 29 by her family. The single mom was last seen Aug. 26 in Jasper, where she went to visit her estranged husband to pick up some belongings, according to her family.

Her abandoned van was found at the Canton Wal-Mart Supercenter on Aug. 29.

The family has opened a reward fund with Bank of America that people can donate to starting on Monday. The family already has received $5,000 from the Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation for the fund.

"We need her back. We need her back right now," her father, Danny Jenkins of Augusta, said Friday. "Time is of the essence."

Det. Sgt. Dan King of the Woodstock Police Department said the department is continuing its investigation of the disappearance, which currently is classified as a missing persons case.

There are no suspects, but police are interviewing several "people of interest."

Ms. Ray's estranged husband, Quinton Ray, who was arrested on a terroristic threat charge that King said was unrelated to her disappearance, has bonded out of jail. The police department has not released details of the crime he was charged with.

The department also continues to investigate security tapes from the Wal-Mart where her 1998 maroon-with-gray-trim Ford Windstar sport van was found, King said.

The tapes show that Ms. Ray went inside the store Aug. 26, according to her family, and her personal belongings were found in the abandoned van.

Ms. Ray is described as 5 feet tall and weighing 110 pounds with blond hair and green eyes. She has two tattoos: a red and black tribal tattoo on her lower back and a flower on her right ankle.

Anyone with information about the case or who saw someone driving Ms. Ray's van, is asked to call King at (770) 294-7231 or e-mail him at Dking@ci.woodstock.ga.us. For information about the case, visit the Web site at www.Geocities.Com/FindSueAnn.

Ms. Ray's cousin, Heather Teague, was abducted in Spottsville, Ky., 10 years ago on the same date Ms. Ray was last seen. For information on her case, visit the Web site at www.WhereIsHeatherTeague.com.

xx Donate To Help Sue Ann

Sue Ann's family has a PO Box for those wishing to help Sue Ann to send donations. This is NOT a reward fund. It's for the search and recovery efforts that continue for Sue Ann. The Cue Center has just completed a second search here in GA for Sue Ann. The expenses of getting these people down here are sometimes expensive and things like hotels and food are being paid for out of the pocket of the family.
I'm also taking this opportunity to thank Monica Caison for her hard work on this case and her allowing me to come out and be a part of the search. These people are wonderful and they vital to helping with these searches.

Here is the PO BOX below to help Sue Ann. Please only send checks - no cash. This is to ensure your safety when donating.

Searching for Sue Ann Ray Fund
P.O. Box 48
Clearwater, SC 29822

In the next few days the family hopes to have something in place for the reward fund so that each person who wishes to help increase the reward fund can go to any Bank of America location. That will be posted as soon as we have it.

xx No New Leads in Sue Ann Ray Disappearance
« Reply #12 on: Sep 29th, 2005, 3:05pm »

Woodstock Police Sergeant Dan King said Monday, "We have absolutely nothing new and nothing different," regarding the Sue Ann Ray missing person case. The young woman, last seen in Jasper, has been missing since Friday, August 26.
"We're still following up leads," King said. The
investigation has identified no suspects, no persons of interest, King added. "We're about to turn the case over to the GBI," he said.
"She's been missing so long that we don't even know that there's been a crime involved. It's just a missing persons case. We've asked the GBI to step in and take it over."About four years ago, Sue Ann Ray worked at J. R.'s Bottle
Shop on Highway 53 in Jasper, said Teresa Ray, the missing woman's mother-in-law. Interviewed at J.R.'s where she is employed, Teresa
Ray said her son, Quinton, last saw his wife at his home in Jasper the Friday the young woman went missing. The couple had been separated for some time before Sue Ann Ray's disappearance.

Teresa Ray said her daughter-in-law had been living in Woodstock and working for a trucking company there. Quinton Ray filed a missing person report, seeking Sue Ann Ray, with the Woodstock Police the Monday after his wife's disappearance.
"He went to the county [Cherokee] first," Teresa Ray said, "and they sent him to Woodstock."
Teresa Ray said her daughter-in-law has gone missing before, but Ms. Ray believes members of the young woman's family knew where she was during that previous disappearance.
"I won't say no one knew where she was," Teresa Ray said.
"She had gone off, and her husband didn't know where she was for up
to five days." Teresa Ray indicated that this time no family members
seem to know the young woman's whereabouts, and she has not been
heard from in over a month.
"It was four weeks Friday [September 23]," Teresa Ray said.It is hoped increased publicity may generate more leads in
the case. "She'll be on that America's Most Wanted -- it's my understanding, next Saturday," Ray said.
Any information regarding the whereabouts of Sue Ann Ray, should be forwarded to Sergeant Dan King of the Woodstock Police at
770-294-7231.
